Purity Sucks

Two days of health food and I am already hating it.

Cutting Caffeine and Sugar - I drastically cut two of the things that have been keeping me sane lately… caffeine and sugar. With my metabolism and lack of appetite, caffeine and sugar are the worst things that I can consume if I am to gain lean body mass. For now, I am drinking a 20oz coffee in the morning and nothing afterwards. Starting thursday, I will be doing a light morning walk/jog just to get the blood flowing prior to heading to work… hoping this will eventually replace the morning caffeine.

The gastro-intestinal distress caused by a surge in caloric intake - Eating a lot of food sucks. Especially when the body is getting used to a much greater intake. I am guessing that I have increased from an average of 2500 or so calories a day to around 3500.

HIT freaking hurts - It supposedly works, but yesterdays workout was incredibly intense.

No more alcohol - Life without modern chemicals really sucks, but when I commit to something or someone, I have to do it all the way or there is no way that I will remain interested.

I think I was just famished on sunday - didn’t eat anything all day, so that probably had a big impact on my weight. Sitting at 172.3 today with 14% body fat.

Weekend Wrapup

I did the once a month cooking thing yesterday in preparation for my renewed fitness/weight gain that I am starting this week. I made about 20 breakfast burritos, 8 PBJ, 6 Ham/Turkey/Swiss, and 6 servings of pasta. Just need some Salmon/Tuna dinners and some protein/carb shakes and it will be enough food for this week.

I’ll post the full measurements taken yesteray later, but I was somewhat surprised that I was 169.2 lbs and 13% body fat (22lbs) after basically 10 months of inactivity. Over the next 12 weeks, I will be lifting, eat right, and getting back into a regular cardio plan. At 2 lbs per week max muscle gain, I am shooting for about 190 by the end with at least a similar body fat % (24.7lbs).

I have been reading a lot of the “getting things done”/financial tips sites lately:
- The Simple Dollar
- Zen Habits
- Dumb Little Man
- Life Hacker

Fitness Blog

I was going through my goals for the second half of this year and two biggest items right now are fitness and finances.

Going to turn this into more of a fitness style blog to keep me motivated and help me to see how far I have progressed.

The biggest hurdle with my gaining plans previously was eating enough of the right foods and substituting high calorie crap to keep intake up, so I am putting together a bi-weekly meal plan. With the bi-weekly plan, I should be able to keep things interesting and easy by only having to eat the same dish every few days. I also want to only have to spend time actually cooking about one day a week yet be able to have a very health diet and keep my caloric intake up.

I am going to post weight, body fat, and measurements on a weekly basis. Weight/Reps/Etc. as well.

Change

It takes a lot to embrace change.

It takes a lot to start from the ground level again.

It takes a lot of strength to drop bad influences and bad habits.

It takes a lot of initiative to create positive change, develop new skills, and find contentment in the nuances of daily life.

Or perhaps it only takes a fresh new day and a fresh perspective to completely change the direction of one’s life.

I always lose sight of the fact that I am the only one that can make me happy.

I have found peace and joy in the company of my own thoughts.
